Concept — “Salon en Douceur”
Essence
A women’s majlis distilled to calm for a socialite hostess with refined taste. The space blends her love of French boiserie with modern softness: earth tinted neutrals, curvilinear seating for easy conversation, set deliberately against a modern, sculptural ceiling with floating and curved planes, concealed coves, and petal-like pendants . Daylight is veiled by layered sheers so the room stays bright yet private, an elegant backdrop for hosting coffee, salons, and intimate soirées.
Design Framework
Plan & Flow: Pebble-shaped tables and a sweeping sofa form an intimate conversational arc; twin lounge chairs balance the composition.
Envelope: Fine French boiserie in warm white.
Ceiling as Counterpoint: Contemporary ceiling in pearl limewash and curved perimeter glow; cloud-like pendants read as modern sculpture. This crisp, minimal ceiling contrasts the ornament of the boiserie, creating a purposeful old-meets-new dialogue.
Built-ins: A recessed media wall with illuminated niches and wallpaper backdrop for art collectibles; sliding bronze-mesh panels conceal the projection screen between gatherings so the room reads as a salon, not a TV room.
Materials: Bouclé and chenille upholstery, honed limestone floor, walnut accents, brushed champagne-bronze trims.
Accents: Art and tailored textiles keep the room fresh.
Conclusion
A gracious entertaining salon where classic French boiserie craftsmanship meets contemporary restraint. The juxtaposition mirrors the hostess’s taste; cultured, social, and effortlessly up-to-date.
