“Quiet Retreat”
Essence
This residence is conceived as a quiet retreat pulled from the heart of an arid landscape and translated into contemporary urban luxury.
Earth arrives through travertine floors, sand-toned limewash and pale oak panels that recall wind-worn canyon walls.
Fire is distilled into a suspended focal fireplace that pierces the space like a sun-bleached rock fissure, visible from every major view.
Life enters as living sculptures: cacti framed in museum glass, and deep-burgundy accents that echo desert blooms after rare rain.
The result is a home that feels meditative yet ceremonial, equally suited for reflective solitude or elevated hosting.
Story
Threshold of Pause
A restrained vestibule in beige travertine and sand-toned limewash resets the senses; an abstract bronze sculpture marks the shift from the long passage corridor momentum to the living spaces interior stillness.Axis of Fire
The double-foyer fireplace slices the floor plan, offering a fleeting view of flame on arrival. Its bronze arch becomes a framed “sunset” for both lounge and dining functions.Gathering Dune
Low, rounded sofas and armchairs, form gentle dunes around a cappuccino stone top table, encouraging formal conversations.Ceremonial Table
A monolithic travertine dining table floats on cylindrical legs; above, a sculptural bronze chandelier references cracked riverbeds. The burgundy chairs provide ritual richness without disrupting the palette’s calm.Desert Courtyard Vignette
At transitional joints, glass boxes host living cacti and gravel. Night lighting turns these into lanterns of organic silhouette, guiding movement through the areas.
Identity
Minimal, but not cold.
Luxurious, but not loud.
Rooted, but not rustic.
The design speaks of owners who value craft and elemental honesty, favoring tactile pleasures; rough wood, honed stone, suede upholstery, over conspicuous ornament. Social life unfolds around a core, where art and desert flora remind guests that refinement and raw nature share the same tranquility.
